A Libertas boathouse offers year round protection for your boat with the benefit of luxurious accommodation on the upper deck. The boathouses are designed to be moored in purpose made docks either within or alongside the river bank. They are often able to be moored in locations where, because of planning or other constraints, it would not be possible to construct a conventional building. Because it floats, a Libertas boathouse will never flood, nor will your boat suffer damage to its upper works during times of flood. Your boat will remain secure and fully protected from the elements regardless of weather or water level.
Flexibility in design ensures that a Libertas boathouse will truly enhance each individual owner's enjoyment of the water. Where the proposed mooring is within the grounds of an existing house, the architectural character of the building can, if required, be reflected in the elevations of the boathouse.Floating boathouses from our 'Libertas' range are designed to be moored on the bank side of residential properties or in specially designed docks. Where appropriate, in the design of our boathouses we are able to include features which compliment the architectural vocabulary of the main house.
Although Libertas boathouses are registered as vessels (and are completed with full boat safety certificates) they are designed and built to current UK Building Regulation standards. UK Building Regulations are one of the strictest standards in the world and as such ensure the very highest levels of design, build quality, choice of materials and health and safety.
In most circumstances the use of a 'Libertas' boathouse would be as an ancillary facility, incidental to the enjoyment of the principal dwelling of the riverside property. Yet they can equally compliment a waterside location in their own right.
